Our Story

This is Beyond Remade. More than a fashion brand, Remade is on a mission to solve the textile waste problem. Come with us on our journey to create up-cycled sustainable lifewear made to last a lifetime. Sustainable is more than just a buzzword to us, it's our foundation.

From inception Beyond Remade was focused on one clear goal, creating beautiful new products out of fabrics and materials from the clothes of the past, as well as saving tons of used clothing from landfill. Crafted from reclaimed denims and suede, our new collection aligns our passion for original practical design with a mounting concern for declining global resources.

Our ethos is to bring you the most value we can, in the most responsible way for the planet. Launching with ready-to-wear and accessories, we have created hand crafted investment pieces that speak to the individuality of people.

“We are celebrating both the intricate details of a product and the raw material that can be given new life”

With our collective of designers specialising in zero-waste and circular design our collections will evolve according to the material feedstock available to us. We remanufacture timeless garments through deconstruction and up-cycling in a responsible process. A combination of love, art and science goes into every piece.

Beyond Remade is part of a family of brands and businesses (Beyond Retro, BVH, Bank & Vogue) who work together to form an ecosystem that delivers on our goal to create a truly circular clothing economy.

Our Founders - Steven Bethell & Helene Carter-Bethell

Our founders Steven Bethell and Helene Carter-Bethell are the masterminds behind the family of businesses making up BVH Holdings, including Beyond Retro and Bank & Vogue. An ecosystem of connected brands that work together to deliver on their aim to build a truly circular clothing economy.

After starting in the early 90’s in the basement of their home to provide a service to the Salvation Army, Bank and Vogue has grown to become a leading player in the second hand goods market globally – combining incredible knowledge and experience in wholesale, retail, design and manufacturing. They aim to provide innovative and relevant solutions to the crisis of stuff. They continue to play a meaningful role in defining, contributing to and building a closed loop economy.

“Our quest is to show that existing materials have the same if not greater value than new materials. And to prove at scale that we can design and create a premium, up-cycled collection.”

As thought leaders and pioneers in the post-consumer textile space for over 20 years, they have dedicated their professional careers to innovating, discovering and developing successful solutions to the waste crisis. As an advocate and consultant, Steven advises some of the world’s leading brands, helping them develop actionable strategies for circular production and waste management.

Steven, Helene and their team have travelled to over 30 countries working extensively within the global second-hand market, whilst developing the largest remanufacturing plant in the world, where the circular economy for textiles is brought to life.

Their love for our environment stems from their home life in the Canadian wilderness where they live off grid, connecting with nature through their love of hiking, wood cutting and fishing.
